Following three consecutive wins leading off 2007 and a draw at home to CD Guadalajara, Tom Soehn has seen his squad fall short of victory three times. In their home opener at rain-soaked RFK Stadium, United let the Wizards through four times while only barely managing two succesful attempts on goals. The Barra Brava-perhaps MLS' most renowned Ultras group-cheered loudly as a late Noreaster encroached on the east coast. Cheers rang throughout the sparsely populated RFK and yet the Wizards decidely beat United. Like their venture to Colorado Rapids' Dick's Sporting Goods Park, rain and wind doused any spark Emilio and Fred tried to create. Howver, the slippery conditions may have contributed to Christian Gomez's goal after his rocketed free kick slid its way under diving Kansas keeper, Kevin Hartman. On the pitch the Eagles seemed like eleven strangers while Kansas City clearly demonstrated better pace and communication.
